02 · The idea
How I understand it.
A team often contains knowledge that remains unused because people cannot see where it is needed. Make requests for help a routine part of working together. A useful request states the problem, the help required and the timing, giving colleagues enough detail to recognise a contribution they could make. Leaders influence participation by asking for help themselves and responding constructively when others do so. A shared list of requests or a short session can connect people across departments who rarely meet. Track whether requests receive a response and whether the help resolves the problem. Repeated exchanges make expertise easier to find and give people practical experience of relying on one another. Protect time for useful contributions so that the process fits the team’s workload.
03 · A fictional example
Put it into a business.
A software firm adds a ten-minute help round to its Friday meeting. An account manager asks for someone who understands a customer’s stock system. An engineer recognises the platform and offers a short walkthrough. The account manager closes the loop the following week, explaining what changed. Others begin posting specific requests before problems become overdue across their teams.

What one request could you make visible this week so that somebody else can contribute?
