The level I am trying to change

I go back to the neurological levels in NLP a lot. Robert Dilts calls this his logical-levels framework. It gives me a way to look at different parts of a situation.

My environment. My behaviour. My capabilities. My beliefs and values. My identity. My sense of purpose and connection to something beyond myself.

Which part am I trying to change? That question can be useful when I am treating something I did as a statement about who I am. It also connects with my environmental engineering: changing the things around me can make a useful action easier.
